Cell salt protocol
A tissue salt chart or a personalised cell salt protocol?
I give away a free tissue salts chart, and I also write personalised cell salt protocols from people’s blood work. They do different jobs. If you are wondering which one you need, this is how I think about it.
What a tissue salt chart is good for
A chart is a map of all twelve cell salts (also called tissue salts or Schuessler salts) side by side, with what each one is traditionally associated with. Mine is two pages. It is a lovely way to get familiar with the salts and their names, and it costs you nothing but an email address.
What a chart cannot do is look at you. It shows the same twelve salts to everyone.
Where guessing from a chart runs out
The trouble with working from a chart alone is that it invites matching one thing to one salt. I am not saying, “your ferritin is low, therefore you need Ferrum phos.” Even my own chart notes that the salts are not chosen on blood test numbers alone.
It also tends to lead to buying more than you need. You do not need twelve bottles. Two people can have similar blood results but completely different health experiences, and a chart has no way to tell them apart.
What a personalised cell salt protocol adds
A protocol starts with your own blood work. I personally look through your results as a whole for patterns that may relate to particular salts, rather than picking out one number. Then I put those patterns alongside the questionnaire you fill in about your symptoms, how you are feeling and your health history.
From there I decide which salts appear relevant to your individual picture, the order I would approach them in, and why. You receive that as a written PDF, emailed to you within five working days of your completed intake.
Side by side
- Tissue salt chart: all twelve salts, the same for everyone, free, good for learning the basics.
- Cell salt protocol: built from your blood work and your health story, narrowed to the salts I think are worth considering for you, with the order and my reasoning explained.
Which should you start with?
If you are simply curious about cell salts, start with the chart. If you already have recent blood work and want to know which salts may fit your picture, that is what a protocol is for. You can read more about what a cell salt protocol is, or see all twelve salts on my cell salts page.
Important: Your Blood Story is a complementary health analysis and does not diagnose or treat medical conditions. It is not a laboratory and is not a substitute for medical advice. If your blood work shows an abnormality, please discuss it with your doctor or healthcare professional.
